In this Video Dance Workshop we will work on both choreography and film making in order to create choreographies as physical stories told for the camera.The partecipants will be divided in groups of two or three people, and will explore and define the roles of director, choreographer and dancer.In this process we’ll explore, among others, the theme of dance linked to urban spaces, the theme of the city that generates suggestions, which we 're gonna translate into movement, the city as a constantly moving scenography, of the perypherical areas as places which can give us lots of visionary inputs. The Neapolitan urban landscape will be our most important inspiration for this work.

ViewsinNaples – The city and its double !

A workshop that will investigate the perception of the city through a personal view of the artists, so that they can catch the deeper aspects that can help to re-read Naples and its complexity as town rich of art and history. The urban spaces become places of creation and of an artistic language that through the dance movement can be reinvented. A dance that goes “deeper” through the millenarians stones of the city, that goes through the populous streets and the seascapes, that can be able to perceive its contradictions and its fascinating aspects. Naples as a place of a collective memory, that can be read from its recent history, bypassing the limits, often simply, of the commonplaces, through a look able to catch its deeper significant.

 

At the end we will present the results - videos and dances - in a public performance.

Please bring your own dv cameras.

The workshop is open for 15 media artists, actors with physical skills, dancers, choreogrphers, directors and filmmakers.

Vedi Napoli e poi....

In questo workshop intensivo di videodanza i partecipanti lavoreranno tanto sulla composizione coreografica che sulla realizzazione di un film. Il gruppo sara diviso in piccole troupe di tre-quattro persone e insieme definiranno ed esploreranno i ruoli di regista, coreografo e danzatore. Lo scopo sara di creare coreografie ipotizate come storie fisiche raccontate per la telecamera. Durante questo processo verranno esplorati, tra gli altri, il tema della danza in relazione con gli spazi urbani, della citta come generatrice di suggestioni che si traducono in movimento, della citta come scenografia in costante movimento e mutazione, delle periferie come luogo ricco di suggestioni visionarie.

ViewinNaples - la città e il suo doppio

Un lavoro che indaghi la percezione della citta attraverso la visione personale dei singoli artisti, in modo da coglierne gli aspetti profondi che possano aiutare a ri-leggere Napoli e la sua complessita di citta carica di arte e di storia. I luoghi urbani, diventano luogo di creazione di un linguaggio artistico che attraverso la danza possano essere reinventati. Una danza che si vada ad insinuare tra le millenarie pietre della citta, che entri nei vicoli popolosi e nei paesaggi marini, che sia in grado di percepirne le sue contraddizioni e le sue fascinazioni. Napoli, come luogo della memoria collettiva, che possa essere riletto alla luce della sua storia contemporanea, scavalcando i limiti, spesso semplicisti dei luoghi comuni, con uno sguardo che vada a coglierne i suoi significati profondi.

 

Al termine del laboratorio verrà presentato il lavoro sia video che di danza in una performance aperta al pubblico presso il museo MADRE di Napoli
